Additional Property Attributes

Future use of the property is currently planned to be a trail head location for an ATV trail system that is planned to be developed in the region.

Former Use: The Former Railroad Depot Site is located on the north side of Route 20 in Fork Lick District, Webster Springs Addison, Webster County, West Virginia. The Site is approximately 2.87 acres and located in an area primarily characterized as residential. The Elk River runs along the northeastern and eastern property boundaires. Structures at the Site include the former train depot and a wooden storage building. From the 1920s through the 1990s, the Site was used primarily as a freight and passenger depot. Grain and flour storage silos were also in use at the Site. Various goods and freight were loaded and shipped out from the Site however, for much of the time, the primary outgoing materials were fence rails. A portion of the Site and a portion of the adjoining properties were used in the late 1950 through the 1990s as a rail mill and much of the property was used for log and rail storage. The Site has not been in use since the rail mill shut down in the late 1990s. Currently, the Town of Addison is working on redevelopment plans to utilize the Site to complement the recreational activities offered by the region.
