Additional Property Attributes

The Phase I Environmental Assessment (ESA) report for Ecole Longan Elementary identified no on-site recognized environmental conditions (RECs), and the Hazardous Materials Survey identified very little asbestos and household hazardous waste and virtually no lead-based paint. Indications of a possible heating oil tank cited in the Phase I were followed up by the environmental consultant and no tank was identified. Based on these results, the surplus school facility was purchased in February 2012 by the Lafayette Academy, a local public charter French immersion school. Acquisition cost $1.1 million and improvement cost $400,000. The school was prepared and opened for the 2012-2013 academic year in August 2012.

Former Use: Two 1-story buildings, one 2-story building with an adjoining parking lot and one playground area. The building is apprxomately 38,119 square feet. Former French Language Elementary School, currently vacant.
