Additional Property Attributes

Large 4-story brick main building with two basements on northeast side, older construction small 1-2 story addition, newer construction A Phase II ESA was recommended for the Site to verify if there is any contamination issues associated with the presence of a LUST/UST site on the south adjacent property (Westport High School: ACRES ID #121487).

Former Use: The former Westport Junior High School, located in the the heart of Kansas City's urban core, is a five-story historic school building with a basement and sub-basement first built in 1924 and operated as such until closing in 2009. The property also includes a 1991 two-story addition (Annex), a 200-car parking deck, and an elevated walkway system connecting the Annex to the original structure. These improvements sit on the south portion of a 4.56 acre parcel. The subject property buildings have been vacant since 2009.
