Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The subject property consisted of undeveloped, vegetated land from at least 1938 until the existing hotel building was constructed between 1949 and 1950. The Casa Blanca Hotel opened for business in 1950 and operated for approximately 20 years as a hotel, banquet center, and meeting place. The subject property was utilized as a doctor?s office and residence for a period in the 1980s prior to being vacated. The subject property was owned by the State of Michigan from at least 1998 through 2000 when it was sold to Saundra Joubert. Mr. John Meeks purchased the subject property in 2002 and the property has been vacant since that time.
First Neighbor, Ida Short and Betti Jean Wiggins purchased the property in 2021 and conducted a BEA. Asbestos survey and tank removal of abandoned heating oil tank removed.
