Additional Property Attributes

The subject property is currently occupied by the Mill Village Country Store (market and deli) and attached Stoddard Post Office. A second-floor apartment is located above the convenience store. The subject properaty was reportedly first developed circa 1853 with a store and residence. Gasoline has been sold at the site from approximately 1930s to 1950s and then again in the 1980s. There was a documented heating oil release on the site in 1999.

Former Use: The subject property was reportedly first developed circa 1853 with a store and residence. According to historical records, a glass factory and wood working operation were historically located on or near the subject property sometime in the 1800s. The subject property was part of the Merrill Lumber and Forestry Co. Stoddard Lumber Co. Mill in the early 1900s and operated as the Merrill Store unitl the store was destroyed by fire in 1947. According to the property owner, gasoline was sold at the site from approximately the 1930s until approximatley the 1950s. The existing gasoline UST was installed in 1989 and gasoline retail activities re3commenced until 2011 when they ceased operation.
