Additional Property Attributes

Sanborn maps, anecdotal information, and a Ground Penetrating Radar survey indicated that USTs were potentially located on the north edge of the west side of the property and another in the northeast corner of the east side of the property. Exploratory excavation indicated that no USTs were located on the west side of the property. However, three USTs were encountered in the far northeast corner of the property approximately one foot below ground surface in a vertical position. The three USTs were removed; no evidence of petroleum contaminated soils was observed during UST removal activities. The four confirmatory samples collected indicated that no detected concentrations were above the MBRCA Storage Tanks residential RBTLs, with the exception of lead (slightly above the MRBCA DTL and residential RBTL). Three additional soil samples were collected on the east side of the site to represent lead concentrations in site background soils. Background sample results indicated that the lead concentrations detected in the vicinity of the tanks are similar to area background concentrations and not related to the USTs. No bedrock or groundwater was encountered in the UST excavation. The MDNR issued a No Further Action letter for the site on January 23, 2013.

Former Use: The property is currently a vacant vegetated lot with no structures present. The property was historically utilized as a gasoline service station, dry cleaners, and other non-environmental related commercial businesses.
