Additional Property Attributes

Ohio EPA performed limited supplemental phase 2 assessment including 11 soil borings, stock pile sampling and indoor air sampling. Sampling was performed following installation of a vapor intrusion mitigation system and completion of soil cleanup and capping activity. Cleanup was performed under the state voluntary cleanup program and a No Further Action document is anticipated within the second quarter of 2018. Once a CNS is issued from OhioEPA, engineering and institutional controls will be in place.

Former Use: The former Joseph and Feiss/Hugo Boss property was developed in 1870 for clothing manufacturing by the Joseph and Feiss (later Hugo Boss) company. Three buildings were constructed over a number of years; a warehouse, factory and administration building. Operations continued at the property until 1998. In the early 2000s, the factory building was razed along with parking lots on the northern boundary. The administrative and the warehouse building remain onsite, but were abandoned. The property was transferred several times initially for residential development plans. The current owner operates a charter school in the former warehouse building
