Additional Property Attributes

The US EPA tasked Tetra Tech to conduct a Phase I ESA and a supplemental assessment of the site under the Superfund Technical Assessment and Response Team (START) contract EP-S5-13-01, Technical Direction Document (TDD) No. S05-0003-1410-003. The property contains a turn of the century automobile plant, one of the first in the United States. A Phase I ESA and a Hazardous Materials Survey was performed to include sampling for asbestos-containing materials (ACM) and lead-based paint (LBP). ACM, LBP, and universal wastes (light ballasts, elevator control and hydraulic tank, light tubes, and switches) were identified in the building materials. The building is planned to be renovated into student housing.

Former Use: The property was an automobile manufacturing plant since the turn of the century. It has been occupied until recently, being used for a printing facility as well as storage for museums and antique car collections.
