Additional Property Attributes

EPA conducted a Phase I Environmental Assessment at the property. The Phase I Environmental Assessment identified the presence of Recognized Environmental Condition (RECs) that may be impeding the redevelopment of the property, including the use of the basement for an indoor target range resulting in suspected lead and heavy metal contamination. These RECs will be evaluated further during a Phase II Environmental Assessment.

Former Use: The Site consists of 0.41 acres containing a three-story 11,200 square foot former National Guard Armory building. The City of Pocomoke took ownership of the property following the closure of the Armory in the 1970's, the building was then occupied by the local police department until 2008, which has been unoccupied since this time. The Site is currently being considered for repurposing or redevelopment. EPA conducted a Phase I Environmental Assessment at the property.
