Additional Property Attributes

The Town of Mexico Beach would like to obtain this parcel to increase their capacity to manage storm water runoff in major events like hurricanes. Evidence of historical operations include a suspected "brown liquor" containment pond that appears in aerial photographs from 1953-1964 and a uncontrolled, unlicensed municipal dump site that reportedly operated from the 1970s through the 1980s and represents RECs for the site. The dump site appears to have been located in the same area as the suspected containment pond.

Former Use: The property was used for silviculture from 1940 through 2018 as well as a suspected containment pond and dump site (on portions of the parcel). The property is heavily wooded from historic silviculture (industrial use) and the proposed use as storm water retention is also listed as industrial future use.
