Additional Property Attributes

The facility was run by the New Jersey Department of Human Services from the 1930s to the present. The West Campus of the Vineland Developmental Center was formerly operated as a residential facility for individuals with developmental disabilities until it closed in 2012. The residents lived in the cottages on-site and participated in programming. The last 40 residents living on-site were transferred to the East Campus in 2011 as part of the center's overall closing proposal to consolidate programs, owing to a reduced number of individuals being served. The West Campus is currently deteriorating because the buildings are no longer being maintained. With the exception of the Learning Center (which was occupied as a preschool until 2018), the buildings are currently considered unfit for occupation.
