Additional Property Attributes

The Kasaan Old Presbyterian Church site is approximately 0.575 acres in size, with two structures on the property. The property's legal description is Block 5, lots 6 and 7. The Organized Village of Kasaan (OVK) acquired the property through a statuary quitclaim deed in 2014. The site has been lived on since the early 1900s. Lead and asbestos contamination may be present due to the building materials as the structures were repaired and added to over time. An above ground storage tank was formerly present near one of the buildings and may have leaked. Further, additional petroleum contamination is also possible if used oil was ever disposed of on the property (undocumented, but possible given the site's central location in the community). No previous assessment work has been conducted at the property. DBAC services include an assessment of the dilapidated buildings and the surrounding property in order to see whether contamination exists and to what extent.
