Additional Property Attributes

The site is a residential property that is approximately 4 acres in size, containing four mobile homes and a makeshift mechanics shop. The site contains a large quantity of miscellaneous trash and debris, including household chemicals, steel drums, automobiles, automobile parts, appliances, paint cans, metal waste, tires, and yard waste. The site was identified as having potential recognized environmental conditions (RECs) due to the property's historical use as an unregulated waste dump. Soil samples were collected for laboratory analysis from six locations at the site. Results of the laboratory analysis of the six soil samples collected from the site did not indicate any VOCs, SVOCs, or metals at concentrations above laboratory reporting limits and/or NMED SSLs. However, due to the large amount of debris at the site, it is possible that stained soils and contamination may be present in areas that were inaccessible. In order to assess all areas of the site, debris and junk removal would be necessary. Enviroworks, LLC, a licensed New Mexico waste hauling contractor, estimated that removal and disposal of the site waste could cost as much as $500,000. A detailed inventory along with identification and classification of any hazardous wastes would be necessary for a more detailed scope of work and cost estimate.
