Additional Property Attributes

Formerly a part of the Richards-Gebaur Air Force Base, this 113-acre parcel of land was purchased from the United States government by the City of Belton via a quitclaim deed in 2002. According to the deed, all previous contamination due to hazardous substances on the site had been remediated. The city desires to turn the property into a light industrial business park. Though no RECs were found, the investigation revealed the following items: Asbestos-containing material (ACM) and lead-based paint (LBP) could be present in the onsite buildings. Electrical ballasts that potentially contain polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) are present in the onsite buildings. Prior to renovating or demolishing the buildings, an ACM and LBP inspection should be completed. Any ACM or LBP found should be properly removed and disposed of, in accordance with federal, state, and local laws, prior to demolishing or renovating. Prior to disposing of any onsite electrical ballasts, they should be inspected to determine if PCBs may be present, then disposed of properly.
