Additional Property Attributes

The structure was likely constructed in teh 1970s/1980s and may (or may not) contain lead and asbestos containing building materials within the structure. The roof and walls have begun collapsing and pose a threat to the health, security, and the general welfare of the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community. The structure is "open" to the environment and located along a major residential route in the unincorporated historic Indian community of Zeba, within the exterior boundaries of the L'Anse Indian Reservation established by Treaty with the Chippewa of 1854. The structure is a hazard to trespassers and could be developed into a potential meth lab. The structure is located near HUD tribal housing. The Tribe intends to redevelop the property for residential use.
Under Superfund Technical Assessment and Response Team (START) Contract No. 68HE0519D0005, Task Order-Task Order Line-Item No. (TO-TOLIN) F0107-0001DC101, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) tasked Tetra Tech, Inc.
