Additional Property Attributes

The property (NE corner of Fort Bayard Street & Oak Street) is used for the Village of Santa Clara Farmer's Market. There are wooden shelter/booth structures on this portion of the site for the Farmer's Market vendors. A portion of the property is paved and has the vendor booths and the remainder is vacant and unpaved. The contamination of concern is petroleum products. The vacant property is located at the corner of an intersection on the Village's main thoroughfare and was gas station in the past. A portion of the property is paved and there is evidence of former gas station dispensers. There are known historic USTs at the property. On July 18, 2022 the New Mexico Petroleum Storage Tank Bureau (PSTB) informed the NMED Brownfields Program that there was a minor release at the property potentially caused by recent precipitation. PSTB showed us site visit photos and the port to one of the USTs is sticking up above the ground surface. The Ground Penetrating Radar Survey took place at the Site on December 14th, 2022. An anomaly representing the existing buried underground storage tank was found in the southwest corner of the property. Visually stained soil was observed in the area around the tank inlet.
