This work was assigned under Superfund Technical Assessment and Response Team (START) V Contract No. 68HE0519D0005, Task Order-Task Order Line Item Number (TO-TOLIN) F0107-0001EE215. The subject property consists of two parcels that consists of 21.87 total acres of forested land in Fennville, Allegan County, Michigan. Based on historical documentation, the subject property operated as a landfill from at least the early 1950s to the early-1980s. The landfill is no longer active. Soil and groundwater samples were collected and metals and per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances were detected in soil and groundwater at the site at concentrations that exceed the Michigan Department of Environment, Great lakes, and Energy criteria. Therefore, remedial activities are warranted for this site.
