Additional Property Attributes

The property consists of a 342 acre parcel of land owned by the Pueblo of Pojoaque Development Center. The property was previously used as a horse racing track, stables, and a spectator viewing stadium. The vacant large spectator viewing stadium is approximately 54,000 square feet and in a state of deterioration both externally and internally. Probably RECs include asbestos and lead based paint. While there are several acres of green space that are often used for youth sports practice and events (such as soccer tournaments), the viewing stadium has not been in use for several decades. The majority of the horse stables and other support buildings on the property have been demolished or removed. The Pueblo is currently working to create a redevelopment master plan which will include mixed use elements of commercial retail space, recreational space and residential housing options. As the Pueblo has demolished the old grandstand building, there is discussion of building a new stadium for concerts, sporting events, and other large outdoor events. A combination of residential housing types such as apartments and other affordable housing units is also under consideration (as of 4/3/2025).
