Addl Cleanup/Treatment info: In February 1996, KYDEP requested further site assessment work to determine the horizontal and vertical extent of the remaining site contamination. Following that report, Kerr-McGee installed a different remedial system, a dual phase vacuum extraction system, to treat contaminated groundwater. This treatment system was operated continuously until September 2003. Quarterly groundwater monitoring was maintained for two more years and then was discontinued in June 2005. On September 21, 2005, KYDEP issued a No Further Action letter and requested that all groundwater monitoring wells be properly abandoned. The monitoring well abandonment report was submitted to KYDEP in March 2006.

Additional Property Attributes

Kerr-McGee purchased the Property in 1967 and operated a service station from 1967 through 1988. The underground storage tanks ("USTs") were removed in December 1988 following a
1,400 gallon release of unleaded gasoline in January 1987. The dispenser piping was later removed in August 1994. Following the 1987 release and closure of the service station operations in April 1988, a soil vapor extraction ("SVE") system was installed in August 1988. Kerr-McGee submitted a site assessment report to the Kentucky Department for Environmental Protection ("KYDEP") in November 1988. A spill of approximately 50 gallons occurred from a component of the SVE system in February 1990. In July 1993, the SVE system was deactivated and Kerr-McGee continued to monitor groundwater conditions.

In February 1996, KYDEP requested further site assessment work to determine the horizontal and vertical extent of the remaining site contamination. Following that report, Kerr-McGee
installed a different remedial system, a dual phase vacuum extraction system, to treat contaminated groundwater. This treatment system was operated continuously until September
2003. Quarterly groundwater monitoring was maintained for two more years and then was discontinued in June 2005. On September 21, 2005, KYDEP issued a No Further Action letter
and requested that all groundwater monitoring wells be properly abandoned. The monitoring well abandonment report was submitted to KYDEP in March 2006.
