Additional Property Attributes

Under the Superfund Technical Assessment and Response Team (START) contract 68HE0519D0005, Task Order - Task Order Line-Item Number F0107-0001ED267, USEPA is supporting the project through its Targeted Brownfields Assessment program. The site is owned by the Lac Vieux Desert Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians who purchased it from Superior Milling Ltd. In 2003. The property was previously used for lumber milling operations beginning in 1983. The Tribe is looking to add agricultural production to the land. START collected building materials samples for asbestos analysis, and no asbestos containing materials were fuond. START collected soil and concrete samples, and no contaminants were identified above EGLE criteria. START collected a sample of the potable water well and no contaminants were found at concentrations exceeding EGLE criteria.
