Additional Property Attributes

In 1938, Saline Township School District built the subject property as a two-story 7214sf High School. In the early 1970s, the township school district merged into the Stanton Local School District and converted the High School building into the Stanton Local Elementary School. In 1988, Stanton Local Schools merged with Edison Local School District. and the district reorganized the two-story building as the Edison North Elementary School. The Elementary School closed in 2008 and the Village of Irondale acquired the 2.50ac property that year. The building is vacant and has fallen into disrepair.

With the former high school gone, the village plans to use the property as a greenspace for community events.

The Jefferson County Land Reutilization Corporation (Land Bank) has secured funds for cleanup and demolition through the Ohio Department of Development Building Demolition and Site Revitalization Program.
