Additional Property Attributes

Based on reviews of historical city directories, historical aerial photographs, and historical topographic maps, the area around the subject property was developed for mixed commercial and residential use by at least 1903. Development of the subject property began in 1903 with the construction of two residential structures at the east side of the subject property and undeveloped land at the west side of the property. By 1910, the subject property was developed with a lumber yard and an associated office and warehouse. In 1943, the residential properties at the east side of the subject property were redeveloped to a tractor sales and services site with the lumber yard present at the west side of the subject property. In 1973, the current inn and hotel structure was constructed and operated until about 2019 when the City of Havre and the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services deemed the hotel uninhabitable (Tetra Tech 2022b). START recommended a Phase II to address RECs and VECs identifid in Phase I report.
