Additional Property Attributes

The Subject Property consists of an approximately 0.51-acre parcel (Parcel Number 159RIF2415B2) that is currently occupied by the Dante Coal Miners & Railroad Museum in the former bank building. South of the museum is a small, two-story brick structure that is known to have historically operated as a dry cleaner. A Historical map obtained from the Clinchfield Coal Company depicts a filling station adjoining and slightly within the northern border of the Subject Property parcel, as well as a rail spur that crosses the parcel between the bank and filling station structures. According to notes detailed in the 2023 National Register of Historic Places Form which includes the Dante Downtown Historic District, the bank and dry cleaner plant were constructed in 1915.
