Additional Property Attributes

This propert was studied as part of an areawide Phase I for the West End of West Capitol Avenue, an area of historical industrial use that is targeted for redevelopment. The city is completing Phase ones in this area to provide information to prospective developers in the area, along with existing property owners of properties such as 4756-4790 West Capitol Avenue. (PPF - 4756-4790 West Capitol Avenue, 7/26/07)

Former Use: The property was vacant until around the 1960s, when the western portion of the parcel was developed as an auto wrecking facility and used car sales lot. A gas station and convenience store were added in the 1970s at which time the auto wrecking facility and car sales lot were removed. Since the 1980s, the property has been under its current use as a gas station and truck stop with the eastern portion of the property remaining vacant. The current owner of the property purchased it in 2003 from Exxon Oil. (PPF - 4756-4790 West Capitol Avenue, 7/26/07)
