Additional Property Attributes

The Redevelopment Agency is considering the purchase of this property, located in the Triangle Specific Plan area, a planned high-density mixed-use redevelopment area. The property currently operates as a paper recycling facility, although the City is considering it as a potential location for a park, structured parking, or affordable housing to be developed to support the future development of the Triangle area. (PPF - Weyerhaeuser Property, 10/22/07)

Former Use: The property was part of a larger undeveloped area until the current structures were constructed between 1963 and 1968. The property has been used since then as a recycling facility for paper, plastic, and aluminum products. The Phase I ESA discovered that a 10,000-gallon diesel tank was removed from the property in 1985, indicating potential for soil contamination from the former contents of this tank.
