Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: 14 Wind Mill Point Rd has been owned and used by Hampton City Schools since 1974 for site facilities and school operations and maintenance. Onsite activities include facilities for the mechanical maintenance services plus the storage of paint, pressurized gas tanks, fire extinguishers and bundles of wire. The school system was formerly owned by the US government and was used as the command and control center for the Nike missile defense system in the 1960s & 70s. The militarys complete inventory of uses at the site is not available. Based on the past and current uses, it is probable that contaminants have been disposed of improperly on the site along with the potential for stored materials to leach into the soils. The property is zoned residential and the school system would like to sell the property for development. A Phase I was necessary to determine the location and concentration of any pollutants.
