Property Highlights

This former gas station site was under consideration by a local healthcare foundation as a location for a clinic. The Site had gone throught the Illinois EPA LUST program and had recived a No Further Remediation NFR letter from the State. The foundation requested grant funding to perform a review of environmental site documentation. EOI reviewed the documents and provided a report on 10/29/2009. The report summarizes the site documents, including the NFR. The report states that the NFR relies on the engineered barrier of a defined asphalt cap over the contaminated portion of the Site. The report also states that such a barrier does not currently exist on the Site. The Foundation is now considering another site in Granite City.

Former Use: The Site is located at the intersection of 20th Street and Madison Avenue in Granite City, IL. The Site was the former location of an Amoco gas station. After the removal of three USTs the site had gone through Illinois EPA LUST oversight of sampling and reporting and had received a No Further Remediation letter.
