Property Highlights

Former Use: The site was vacant property by the time the remediation activities began, and was previously the location of the Beloit Foundry (Primecast Property), owned by Kramer International, Inc./Atchison Castings. The eastern portion of the property, formerly occupied by the main foundry buildings and referred to as the Foundry Parcel, was remediated using excavation and engineered barriers. A portion of the Foundry Parcel has been redeveloped as a parking lot and the remainder is to be used as part of a fire department training facility. The western portion of the property, referred to as Corner Parcel, was occupied primarily by ancillary structures/operations. The Corner Parcel was remediated using phytoremediation and will be used as greenspace in the future.
