Additional Property Attributes

The Housing Authority of Granite City operates this senior housing complex and recreation center and is in the process of rehabbing the older portions of this complex into updated, more energy-efficient housing. For this reason, the Housing Authority requested the use of the Port's grant funding for an asbestos and LBP inspection of 27 housing units and the development of bid specs for the required asbestos abatement. No lead was found during the inspection. The abatement is under way.

Former Use: The site of Anchorage Homes has been residential for many years and was likely used agriculturally prior to residential development. Construction on this 200-unit complex began in 1961 and new units were built as recently as 2002.
