Additional Property Attributes

The Site is located in the central business district of Alton, Illinois. Formerly occupied by a Savings & Loan, the Site is developed by a three-story commercial building that has been vacant for several years. This site is being considered for redevelopment as an expansion of a local distributor of ophthalmic equipment. SWIDA used the Brownfield Assessment Grant to fund an asbestos and LBP inspection for this site. A site walk was conducted at the Subject Site recently for abatement contractors prior to the building rehab.

Former Use: The Site is located in the central business district of Alton, Illinois. Formerly operated as a savings and loan and a medical office building, the site was acquired in 2010 by Cornerstone Bank & Trust through foreclosure. The site is currently being redeveloped by a distributor of ophthalmic equipment.
