48 Pratt Street is located on the southeast side of Pratt Street in a General Residence zone of Framingham, Massachusetts Middlesex County. The subject site is a 1.24-acre irregular-shaped parcel owned by the Town of Framingham Parks and Recreation Department. The subject site is vacant and there are no structures located on it. It is a "landlocked" parcel, surrounded by single and multi-family homes with legal access from Pratt Street.

Former Use: 1940s: subject site was used as a horse racing practice track. Several structures including horse stables and small storage facilities were located on site 1947: subject site is still a part of 40 Pratt Street. Town files show a 2,000-gallon underground storage tank UST used for storing gasoline was installed at 40 Pratt Street. The UST was not depicted on Sanborn Maps. 1930 � 1948: a large garage was located on the eastern portion of the subject site, which was still a part of 40 Pratt Street. The garage was used for storage of taxis by Boyle�s Taxi Service starting in 1945. 1948 � 1968: many of the surrounding houses are built in this period and current subject site boundaries are depicted, garage onsite was labeled as a mover�s garage. 1973: Town Parks and Recreation Department purchases the site from Morash and Son, Inc., a furniture moving company. Town used the subject site for storage. 1973 � 1978: adjacent apartment building, Pratton Arms Apartments, to the West of the subject site is present on maps. 2000: storage building former garage located at the site was demolished.
