Additional Property Attributes

Located in a commercial area of Alton, Illinois, the subject site consists of approximately one acre of land and has been developed since at least 1885. The subject site is currently developed by a pay parking lot. Additional uses of the subject site have included a filling station, auto repair facility, a buggy company, and residences. Surrounding properties have been developed since at least 1885 and have included residences, a filling station, auto repair facility, Sears Roebuck, and Hayner Library. Per the PH I ESA, three RECs are noted for the subject property associated with former filling stations & auto repair operations on the subject site and a former filling station on an adjoining property. The PH I recommends a Phase II investigation.
