Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The subject property consists of a 0.31 acre parcel and is located on the east side of North Larch Street, North of Michigan Avenue in Lansing, Michigan. The property is occupied by a 7,800-square foot commercial building, which is located on the majority of the parcel, and was constructed in 1928 with an addition in 1938. The subject property is currently vacant of occupants and therefore there are no current business operations. Standard and other historical sources were able to document that the first developed use of the subject property occurred in at least 1906, at which time a residential dwel1ing was present on the northern portion of the property and was demolished sometime between 1945 and 1950. The northern portion of the current building was initially constructed in 1928, with the southern portion constructed as an addition in approximately 1938. The northern portion of the building was initially utilized as a retail automotive parts store, then was occupied by Lansing Lithographers in at least 1936. This portion of the building was then occupied by various State of Michigan offices until at least 1950. Abrams Aerial Survey occupied the building from at least 1955 until 2007. The southern portion of the building was occupied by a vending service company from at least 1955 until 1972, and was then occupied by Abrams Aerial Survey until 2007. Municipal records document that operations conducted by Abrams Aerial Survey included photo developing activities beginning in at least 1958. A former storage garage was present on the southeastern portion of the subject property from at least 1950 until 1953. The subject property has been vacant of occupants since at least 2007.
