Additional Property Attributes

BTA was conducted the USD #487 Herington Schools for the former Herington Elementary School, which is currently vacant. The property will be redeveloped as a church. Based on the Phase I report, a Recognized Environmental Conditions RECs was identified as potential petroleum contaminants associated with a 3,000 gallon heating oil UST, which was formerly buried on the property. The UST was removed in 1989 without KDHE oversight. Due to the potential for impacts to soil and groundwater, a Phase II assessment is recommended.

Former Use: Developed in 1954 as an elementary school
