Additional Property Attributes

BTA conducted for the City of Garnett. Property is the former location of a manufacturing facility Light Truck Accessories, Inc. that manufactured insulation, windows and s, water slides, and truck caps/lids. One 60,000 square foot structure burned down in February 2011 and the company transferred their operations to Ottawa, Kansas. The City is hoping to attract a business to acquire the property with the goal of creating jobs for the community. RECs were potential petroleum contaminants and hazardous substances associated with historical manufacturing activities conducted on the property and potential releases of PAHs from the fire that burned down the facility. Due to the potential for impacts to soil and groundwater, a Phase II assessment is recommended to commence.

Former Use: manufacturing facility since the 50's, currently vacant.
