Property Highlights

Property is currently a former slag dump, however it represents an extension of the very successful Sommerset at Frick Park housing redevelopmpent. The URA of Pittsburgh together with a private developer converted the adjacent slag sites into 200 units of housing that is now fully occupied. This 66 acres will extend that housing development. The developer has received approval of a $24 million Tax Increment Financing Package. Remediation should occur in 2016.

Former Use: Used for many years to dump slag as the by-product of steel-making at the former J&L steel mill along the Monongahela River.
