Additional Property Attributes

A Phase I ESA completed in 2012 revealed RECs related to historical land use (on-site borrow pit)due to potential for unregulated fill and/or illicit dumping. A Phase II ESA included a geophysical survey that included ground-penetrating radar in the area of the proposed community center structured. GRP revealed areas of shallow debris (both metalic and non-metalic), as well as karst formations in the limestone. Soil and groundwater sampling revealed levels of Benzo(a)pyrene and one metal (chromium) in an area of suspected fill/subsurface debris. Arsenic was encountered in a number of borings, which may be background material. As part of the Supplemental Assessment completed in July 2013, extenstive subsurface investigations (including test pits, stockpiling, geophysical surveys and geotechnical surveys) resulted in a soil managment plan (capping low-level impacts with pavement and structure) and revisions to the community center location plan. In summary, the supplemental assessment aided in site development in an area and manner most appropriate for the physical characteristics of the property.

Former Use: Historical land use was primarily related to borrow pit activity primarily on the west portio of the site, and a relatively smaller area in the location of a proposed community center structure. Site has been used as a municipal recreational facility since the 1990's.
