Additional Property Attributes

No RECs were identified at the site. No significant petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in the vicinity of the former USTs. Moderate lead and cadmium concentrations were detected in shallow soil below the industrial CHHSL, but above the residential CHHSL. Lead was detected at one location exceeding the industrial CHHSL.

Former Use: The Site is in a commercially developed area in the northeast-central portion of Visalia, California. With the exception of a chain-link fence that extends along the southern side of the Site, the Site is vacant, undeveloped land. Mill Creek (an ephemeral creek) extends generally southeast to northwest across the southwestern portion of the Site. A ready-mix concrete batch plant operated at the Site from approximately 1955 to 2004 (as Sequoia Rock Company and Viking Ready-Mix). The plant, including cement storage silos and an associated office building, were demolished in March 2007. A 550-gallon and an 8,000-gallon fuel underground storage tank (UST) were also removed in March 2007 when the concrete batch plant was demolished. The Site has been vacant since that time. Mill Creek has extended across the southwestern portion of the Site since at least the 1920s.
