Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The Site is undeveloped land surrounded by a chain-link fence. Construction vehicles, equipment, and materials are stored at some areas of the Site. The remainder of the Site is unused land partially covered with vegetation. The Site was developed and used as a fruit packing facility from at least 1913 until at least 1950 and as a poultry and feed supplies warehouse from at least the mid-1950s until at least the early-1960s. Site improvements during those periods included (not necessarily concurrently): a warehouse-size building, a fruit storage building, a garage, a shed, a railroad hand-car shed (a former shanty), an 8,500-gallon fuel oil UST, a gasoline tank building, and silos/ASTs. A railroad spur extended along the western side of the Site from at least 1898 until at least the late-1990s. Occupants of the Site have included the Grange Feed Co. (a feed dealer) in at least 1959 and 1964, Visalia Pipe & Supply (a plumbing supplies wholesaler) in at least 1987 and 1994, and Spence Fence Co. (a fence construction company) in at least 2001. Based on the historical information reviewed and the potential for significant impact to the environmental condition of the Site, the following are considered RECs: (1) the 8,500-gallon fuel oil UST, (2) the gasoline tank building, and (3) the onsite railroad spur and associated activities.
