The KDHE conducted a Phase I Brownfields Targeted Assessment (BTA) at the former Trinity Center Apartment Complex located at 1107 Sixth Avenue in Dodge City, Kansas. The Phase I BTA was conducted for the Methodist Hospital Assocation (with City Support) for a property with an unknown environmental status. The currently vacant building is proposed for redevelopment into an apartment complex in an area where there is an extreme housing shortage. Based on the Phase I report, no �Recognized Environmental Conditions� (RECs) were identified in connection with the property or redevelopment ives. Further investigation is not warranted and the property is cleared for reuse/redevelopment. An Asbestos Building Survey was conducted as an additional scope outside of the ASTM-1527-05 Phase I assessment. Asbestos containing material (ACM) was identified in the building and the BTA Applicant has been advised to work with the KDHE Asbestos Control Section to comply with all Federal and State regulations with respect to the asbestos.
