Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The subject property was originally developed as early as 1926 with a portion of the existing school building (Building 1) on the north-central portion of the subject property. This building was utilized as a Kindergarten through 8th grade school for the surrounding community. The building reportedly utilized coal for heating purposes in the boiler system, located in the eastern portion of the basement (stone structure). Between 1958 and 1965, the northern portion of Building 2 was constructed on the northeastern corner of the subject property. According to interviews, this building was originally constructed to serve as the bus garage for the school, which reportedly consisted of one bus. In the 1960s, the school was vacated when it was consolidated with the Baldwin Community Schools. Webber Township took ownership of the structure and constructed the southern portion of Building 1 for use as their Township Hall. Webber Township operated out of the building from that time until approximately 10 years ago when the existing Township Hall was constructed. Webber Township also constructed an addition to the southern end of Building 2 for use as the Fire Departments fire barn. The Fire Barn was vacated in the last year when the existing department building was constructed.
