Additional Property Attributes

The KDHE conducted a Phase I Brownfields Targeted Assessment (BTA) for the InterUrban ArtHouse, Inc., a non-profit proposing to redevelop the post office building into an event center, music/art school, and art studio and surrounding property as greenspace. The BTA was necessary to meet the due diligence requirements of a pending property transaction between the non-profit organization and the current property owner. Based on the Phase I report, no Recognized Environmental Conditions (RECs) were identified in connection with the BTA property and the property is cleared for redevelopment. A NESHAP Asbestos and Limited Lead-Based Paint (LBP) Survey were also performed on the post office building as additional scopes outside of the ASTM-1527-05 Phase I assessment. Asbestos containing material (ACM) was identified in the building and may need to be addressed to redevelopment. The applicant will be advised to work with the KDHE Asbestos Control Section to comply with all Federal and State regulations with respect to the asbestos. Results from the LBP survey did not indicate the presence of LBP within the post office building. UPDATE 2015: The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) conducted a Phase I Brownfields Targeted Assessment (BTA) at 8010 Conser Street in Overland Park, Kansas. The BTA was completed for the InterUrban ArtHouse, Not-for-Profit organization, who intends to purchase the property and redevelop into a non-profit hub with event space, office space, art studios, and a music and art school. A previous Phase I BTA was completed through the Brownfields Program in 2013; however, an updated Phase I was necessary to due to amount of time which has passed since the last assessment. Based on the updated Phase I, no "Recognized Environmental Conditions" (RECs) were identified with the BTA property, and the property is cleared for redevelopment. UPDATE 2016: The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) conducted a Phase I Brownfields Targeted Assessment (BTA) at 8010 Conser Street in Overland Park, Kansas. The BTA was completed for the InterUrban ArtHouse, Not-for-Profit organization. A previous Phase I BTA was completed through the Brownfields Program in 2013 and 2015; however, an updated Phase I was necessary to receive grant support from the City of Overland Park. Based on the updated Phase I, no "Recognized Environmental Conditions" (RECs) were identified with the BTA property, and the property is cleared for redevelopment. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) completed an asbestos abatement project at the Inter Urban Art House from November 2, through November 17, 2017. The completed asbestos abatement included approximately 7,500 square feet of mastic adhesive and flooring material which was required prior to redevelopment.
