Additional Property Attributes

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) conducted a Phase I Brownfields Targeted Assessment (BTA) at 801 Clute Ave. in Kinsley, Kansas. The BTA was conducted for the City of Kinsley who plans to purchase the property and work with a local developer to redevelop the current Elementary School building into a Senior Independent Living Facility. Therefore, the Phase I assessment was necessary to fulfill the due diligence requirements for the pending property transaction. Based on the Phase I report, no �Recognized Environmental Conditions� (RECs) were identified in connection with the BTA property and the property is cleared for redevelopment. A NESHAP Asbestos Survey was also conducted on the former Elementary School building located on the property as an additional scope outside of the ASTM 1527-05 Phase I assessment. Asbestos containing material (ACM) was identified on the interior and exterior of the building. Abatement will likely be required prior to renovation and/or demolition. The applicant will be advised to work with the KDHE Asbestos Control Section to comply with all Federal and State regulations with respect to the asbestos.

Former Use: The school building was build around 1930. School was actively used from approximately 1930 to 2007. Current owner, Kris Arensman, aquired property in June 2013 from Larry Lockwood.
