Additional Property Attributes

The developer plans to renovate the existing building. The first floor will be used as a small restaurant and tasting room while the second floor will be used to distill whiskey. This redevelopment project is a high-priority for the LBRA. This building is located in the Stadium District of downtown Lansing. Extensive renovations to the building will be made, and new employees are anticipated. Any efforts to facilitate better use of the property would be positive for the local community.

Former Use: Based upon a review of historical information the Property appeared to be vacant and/or used for residential purposes from at least 1892 to 1918. By 1920 the existing building was constructed on the Property. From 1920 to approximately 1929 the Property was used for automotive sale and service. From 1930 to present the commercial building appeared to be used for office, storage and/or retail purposes. According to the available Fire Department records, a 1,000-gallon underground storage tank (UST) was installed on the Property in 1958. The UST was used to store gasoline. No records are available indicating the UST was removed from the Property.
