Additional Property Attributes

This assessment has revealed no evidence of RECs in connection with the site except for the following: � The former use of Parcel 1 as a textile mill, oil company and filling station. This facility is also listed on the LUST, IMD, and RGA LUST databases because a petroleum leak occurred at the facility on April 26, 2005, which impacted soil at the facility. Previous assessments on this parcel, including a Phase II ESA and LSA, have indicated the presence of hazardous substances and petroleum products in the soil and groundwater at this parcel. � The former use of Parcel 2 as a textile mill and a foundry and machine company from 1907 until the late 1990s. Historical operations on this parcel included metal working, iron scrap storage, coke storage, textile dyeing, chemical storage, knitting, boarding, finishing and the use of USTs. � The release of hazardous substances and petroleum products on Parcel 3. � A leaking UST observed on Parcel 3 during the site reconnaissance. � Hickory Fuel Company, located to the north and cross-gradient of the site. This facility is listed on the LUST, IMD and RGA LUST databases because a petroleum leak at the facility was reported on October 19, 1994, which impacted both groundwater and soil. � Two former filling stations and a former dry-cleaner, previously located to the south and southwest, and upgradient of the site.

Former Use: The site consisted of for three parcels in Hickory, Catawba County, North Carolina (site). Parcel 1 is an approximately 2.34-acre parcel located at 56 3rd Street SE, and is developed with a vacant two-story warehouse building and a shoe repair store. The warehouse building is a historic building and the former Lyerlie Mill. Much of the redevelopment funding is going towards rehabilitating the historic mill building. Parcel 2 is an approximately 1.84-acre parcel located at Main Avenue Way SE, which is currently undeveloped. Parcel 3 is an approximately 1.3-acre parcel located at 51 3rd Street SE, which is currently developed with a warehouse building occupied by ENECO, Inc.
