Additional Property Attributes

The 4,635 sf building has been an empty warehouse for nearly a decade. Since 1989, the building has been owned by Farm Business, Inc. Originally built in 1948 as a Pontiac dealership, the property has had 4 owners since inception. After the dealership, the building had been an auto parts store since 1974. SLV Habitat for Humanity has entered a lease-purchase agreement with Farm Business, Inc. to hoiuse their Habitat Store in Alamosa, CO. The Habitat Store seeks donations of new and gently used building materials for sale to the general public. Proceeds from the Habitat Store will fund their affordable housing efforts in the community. Phase I ESA indentified the following RECs in connection with the Site: Historical Site Uses. The Site was formerly utilized as a Pontiac Dealership with a service department circa 1960s/1970s, followed by an auto parts store with a service area until circa 2000. Typical operations involving vehicle service/repair/maintenance would include the use of hazardous substances and/or petroleum products such as gasoline, diesel, oils, solvents, etc. The historical use of these materials onsite and the potential for leaks and/or spills in the subsurface environment is considered a REC in connection with the Site. In addition, the potential for vapor migration/intrusion issues at the Site from historical uses is considered a REC in connection with the Site. Historical and Current Uses of Nearby Properties. Nearby properties historically operated as filling stations (with associated underground storage tanks (USTs) [i.e., gasoline]); as auto repair shops; and as dry cleaning facilities, with the current nearby dry cleaning facility operating since circa 1963 (432 Main Street). These types of operations involve the use of hazardous substances and/or petroleum products such as gasoline, diesel, oils, and solvents (including the typical dry cleaning solvent tetrachloroethylene [PCE]). The historical and current use of these nearby properties, with the potential for leaks and/or spills of these materials into the subsurface environment, is considered a REC in connection with the Site. In addition, the potential for vapor migration/intrusion issues at the Site from some of these historical and current uses of nearby properties is also considered a REC in connection with the Site.

Former Use: The 4,635 sf building has been an empty warehouse for nearly a decade. Since 1989, the building has been owned by Farm Business, Inc. Originally built in 1948 as a Pontiac dealership, the property has had 4 owners since inception. After the dealership, the building had been an auto parts store since 1974.
