Additional Property Attributes

Proposed remedial approach: (1) the removal and proper disposal of soils impacted with arsenic, lead, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) impacted soils; (2) monitoring site groundwater for a minimum of four quarters; (3) the placement of a groundwater use restriction on the property; (4) the placement of an ERC requirement to use engineering or institutional controls to mitigate vapor intrusion risks on the southeastern portion of the property; and (5) the closure by removal of each identified UST.

Former Use: The Site is located in Allen County, Wayne Township, SE � of Section 12, in a mixed commercial, residential and industrial area of Fort Wayne, Indiana. The subject property is an industrial zoned rectangular parcel of approximately 1.47 acres in area. The subject property was developed with residential, commercial and industrial structures preceding 1890. Industrial operations occurring in these structures included a machine shop, paint shop, carpenter shop, tin shop and a lumber yard. The property is currently developed with three commercial/industrial buildings. The south end of the subject property is paved with an asphalt parking lot. Records of site ownership are incomplete. The property was owned by Growth Industries until 1967, when it was acquired by the McMillen Foundation, who presently owns the property.
