Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The property consists of one parcel containing one commercial building on approximately 0.29 acres. Review of historical sources indicates that this property was developed prior to 1888 with a portion of the current building in the southwestern portion and a stable in the northeastern portion. Several additions were constructed to the original portion of the building between the late 1880�s and 1940. Additionally, the former eastern portion of the building was demolished between 1924 and 1940 and converted into a parking lot. However, a basement under the northeastern portion of the property/parking lot remains. Operations occurring at the property included power generation utilizing four dynamos and two engines from prior to 1888 until between 1915 and 1919. Fuel sources included coal and fuel oil (stored in a former shed located in the northern portion between at least 1909 and 1919), and the dynamos and engines were historically located in the western and central portions of the building. By 1919, power generation operations had ceased on the property and the building was converted to office use. The building has been vacant since 2014.
