Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The Property is currently developed as a multi story, wood/brick and asphalt shingled gable roof commercial hotel building located on the northern portion of an approximately 9.43 acre parcel of land bordered to the north by State Street, to the west by St Clair Street, to the south by Thomas Edison Drive and to the east by the Thomas Edison Parkway and St Clair River. The Property also consists of one outparcel of approximately 2.59 acres (mainly parking lot) and four former residential lots located along the east side of St Clair Street. The building footprint is approximately 62,337 square feet and is comprised of approximately 150 rooms, a pool, a dining lounge, 14 meeting rooms and a ballroom. The building was built in approximately 1984. Former uses of the 500 Thomas Edison Parkway Property address are non-existent, as the original address of the Property was 500 State Street until a petition was filed in 1987 with the City of Port Huron for the current 500 Thomas Edison Parkway address. However, former uses of the 500 State Street address include a cement plant (Peerless Cement Corporation) from approximately the late 1920s until the early 1970s and the Grand Trunk Rail Road operations prior to that (including a roundhouse) back to the 1880s. The building is surrounded by a asphalt paved parking area and accessed from both Thomas Edison Drive and State Street.
