Additional Property Attributes

Based upon a review of historical information from the time period of 1912 to present, the Property has been used for both residential and commercial purposes. The first record of a residence at the Site was 1912, and between that time and circa 1966 the Property existed as a residential home. At some point between 1966 and 1970, all buildings comprising the 800 block of E. St. Joseph Street (including 801 S. Hosmer Street) were razed in order to accommodate the construction of I-496, which runs East-West through this area. Following this reconfiguration, 801 Hosmer Street (Parcel #33-01-01-22-102-004) incorporated the remaining property along the south side of E. St. Joseph Street. In 1973, the existing main building was constructed at the far west end of the parcel, and a 1,280-square foot steel pole barn was added immediately to the east in 1989. These two structures utilize, both historically and currently, the addresses 800 and 812 E. St. Joseph Street, respectively. The main building houses a carpentry shop on the main floor, and residential apartments on the 2nd floor.
